Golf Gadgets - The First Ever Golf Swing Analyzer for the iPhone

Sunday, 20 December 2009

Keuminotti LLC, a mobile software innovation company, creates the first ever golf swing analyzer for the iPhone and is making a huge impact for golfers across the world.

In a sport where a round of golf can cost you $100 or more, golfers are always seeking ways to improve their swing. The iSwing allows users to record their golf swing and analyze their flaws by drawing lines over their swing to make sure they’re “on-plane” – a common goal with most golf swings. It also allows users to replay their swing frame-by-frame and in slow motion, a feature not available on the native iPhone software.

As a virtual reference, it also creates sequence photos like Golf Digest centerfolds that you can share with friends via Facebook Connect. The iSwing sells for $9.99 and is available for the iPhone 2G, 3G & 3GS.

“For some, golfing is a hobby. For others it's a lifelong investment…If a user can carry a golf swing analyzer everywhere they go, their margin for improving grows dramatically…”, says Charlie Keum, CEO and Founder of iSwing.

After 8 months of research, development, and beta testing, the iSwing hit the App Store this August. Since it’s debut, the iSwing has already broken into the top 5 most downloaded apps in Japan Sports and stands currently at #1 in Korea Sports.

“The success we’ve seen in Asia is translating well to the US where golf can be an expensive pass time. Professional swing analysis can cost an average of $60 per visit. And for the price of a bucket of range balls, one can analyze their swing on a device they already carry in their pocket…”, says Keum.

With the creation of the iSwing, Keuminotti LLC will continue ramping its core competencies to the iPhone platform and expanding to Android (HTC) in the near future.

iSwing - Finally up

After about 8 months of development, testing, beta testing, and of course waiting for Apple's approval, my newest creation is up.

The iSwing - iPhone App / Golf Swing Analyzer

http:/www.iswingapp.com

The concept of the app is really simple. No frills really. You record your golf swing with iSwing's recorder and playback your swing frame by frame. You can draw lines to check out your swing plane and also create a golf swing sequence that you can share with friends a la Facebook connect and email. Pretty simple.

The idea came about roughly two years ago when my girlfriend at the time, now wife, and I went to the golf range. Yeah, we love golfing. And it dawned upon me that rather than asking pros to give me tips here and there I realized that theres really no way to validate all thier wisdom without seeing if for yourself. They can tell you that you're doing something wrong from thier eyes, but you never really know what they're talking about.

At our next visit to the range, i brought my handi Sony Cam Cybershot with video record and set it up on my golf bag during practice. After the first swing, it was pretty interesting to see what you can't see from a third person perspective. And the teachers were rigtht, i was "going over the top". It helped my swing for sure. I think i shaved about 10 strokes since then. So, during that time, i knew that there may be a need out there somewhere, other golfers like myself that have a yearning to fill that void and make thier time on and off the golf course worth while. I mean, lets face it, golfing is a big investment if you're doing for the long haul. Might as well make the game more fun, and play better.

So around the same time, after several months of going to the range, practicing, and filming thought it woud be cool to have your own mobile golf swing analyzer. About 10,000 or so apps had been developed and I imediately jumped on the opportunity.
